The Bounce-Up™ Project
How do you celebrate milestones? Your milestone could be a personal, professional, or business one. And when global events cancel your celebration, how do you move forward?
Like many people, my out-of-the-country destination, the "healthy milestone celebration," has been postponed for the past two years. In 2020, I replaced the trip with a fun "8 Days of Ireland" celebration. But, this year, I wanted to do something entirely different, yet I didn't know what…until my annual visit with my surgeon.
Before she inquired about my health, she asked, "How's the book going?" An onslaught of questions followed. Her curiosity piqued when I shared what has recently become my top two keynotes: Be a Changemaker: Don't Bounce Back, Bounce-Up and Fearless Comebacks: Don't Bounce Back, Bounce-Up.
Her response was, "I have to get you in here to talk to my staff." She turned to her team member and said, "Make sure we have Mj's email." The surgeon's comment stayed with me. It felt like an opportunity knocking in more than one way. The outcome: Her comment jumpstarted the milestone project.
On August 1, 2021, my milestone celebration, the Bounce-Up Project™, launched. It's a give-back appreciation program for oncology healthcare professionals who fight for their patients' survival every single day.
Anyone who has ever faced cancer or knows someone who has battled it understands each birthday or cancer-versary is a celebration. I get to celebrate my August birthday. And on August 14th, I get to celebrate the second healthy-versary (cancer-free) because of the care from the many dedicated oncology professionals. As you know, sadly, too people diagnosed never have the opportunity to celebrate their milestones.
Through the Bounce-Up™ Project Donorbox Campaign, anyone can donate, and they can nominate an oncology professional to receive a Bounce-Up™ Project package here. And your donation can honor someone special. These cheerful packages will be distributed according to the number of donations received. So, for every $20 donation, one Bounce-Up™ Project package will go to a deserving oncology healthcare professional. (Psst! Please share this message with others.)
When the opportunity came knocking, the idea was like a shadow that I couldn't shake. I wasn't looking to start something new or take on what would be my passion project. The Project seemed to find its way to me. Like Steve Jobs once said, “The vision pulled me.” And maybe this opportunity will become the charity arm of Mj Callaway Training + Development.
