Issue 118: Are You Multiplying Your Brain Power?

Deliberately seek the company of people who influence you to think and act on building the life you desire.
— Napoleon Hill

Have you served on a non-profit board or joined a committee with a common goal? The goal could be increasing membership, organizing a fundraiser, building a community playground, or planning a reunion. If so, whether you realize it or not, you have been part of a Mastermind. As you worked together, everyone coordinated their knowledge and effort to achieve a definitive goal. Masterminding is the next piece to add to this Inner Circle Series.

Masterminds date back to Andrew Carnegie's days. He credits his vast wealth as a result of masterminding with other like-minded business owners with a common goal—to grow their businesses. Think of masterminding as multiplying your brain power with the capability to compound efforts for a mutual purpose--success.

Masterminding is an untapped power source of knowledge, wisdom, and energy. The bond developed with other like-minded people elevates the success path for everyone.

Would you believe that Weight Watchers, now called WW, started as a mastermind, although the founder Jean Nidetch probably didn't identify the group as such? Jean and friends would meet weekly in Jean's living room to discuss losing weight, goals, and more. That inner circle of support created the foundation for WW.

Early on in my business, a local Mastermind invited me to join. The incredible part of being a Mastermind is building a solid connection with your partners. They share the roller coaster journey because there are always ups and downs. You encourage each other as you grow personally and professionally. Seven years later, I'm still connected to my first Mastermind and know I can reach out to them anytime. Today, I'm part of two Masterminds, and we meet via Zoom as we're scattered throughout the country.

You can discover more about Masterminds in the classic Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill or my digital course Power Team: Build Your Circle of Influence to Increase Your Results for an entire Mastermind Module and workbook.

  • My summer speaking schedule has had more virtual programs than in-person, and I used some of my new technology equipment.

  • My fall speaking schedule rocks. Let's get your organization on the schedule.

Until next time, Power-Up, Play-Up™, and Bounce-Up™!
