Issue 085: 12 Goals of 2022
LDo you have a year-end strategy or action plan that you execute at the end of every year so that you can kick off the new year strong?
Since the beginning of December, I’ve carried my 2022 Vision Book, aka spiral journal, everywhere I go. In the evenings, I settle on the sofa with my puppy, Gidget, and reflect and create. I jot snippets of ideas and notes. I enjoy the pen-to-paper action and research shows when you write it down, you make it happen. The Vision Book is my think tank to create the bigger picture. You know the view from 64,000 feet.
Issue 084: The 12 Achievements of 2021
Last week, I talked with a client who mentioned he didn’t feel like he accomplished much during 2021. Sometimes, we get to the end of the year and forget about everything we achieved. Let’s face it, January 2021 is a distant memory. My client and I looked at what he accomplished in the fourth quarter. Most often, it’s because we don’t spend the time to reflect on our accomplishments. The discussion with my client initiated a fun reflection session over the weekend that I’ve coined “The 12 Achievements of 2021.”
Issue 083: 12 Days of Conversations Challenge
The Thanksgiving holiday has been one of appreciation, gratitude, and surprise. As you can guess, appreciation and gratitude are for family, friends, colleagues, and clients who have added joy to my life. The surprise reminded me of a conversation I had with a client before the holiday about unexpected events in our businesses.
Issue 082: Our Thanksgiving Wish For You
As we celebrate the season of giving thanks, we are very grateful for your support of Bounce-Up™ Chronicles and for sharing the Bounce-Up journey with us.
Keeping with our “thankful” theme Mj interviewed Gratitude Expert Lisa Ryan on my #LinkedInLiveStream and she shared insights and tips to keep gratitude in your life all year long. It’s worth the listen.
Issue 081: Our Small Businesses Need Us Desperately
Did you know that American Express launched #SmallBizSat in 2010 to promote small businesses after the recession? Our small businesses are part of our communities, and many haven’t survived the ravages of the pandemic. For the ones that have survived, this holiday season is crucial for them to stay afloat. Here are six simple ways you can help this holiday season:
Issue 080: Own it Like Prince
Do you take ownership of your service, product, or company? Do you own your business conversations, message, and professional presence?
Issue 079: From Pro Hall of Fame Events to Black Tie Customer Service – What Does It Take?
Imagine being part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame celebration events, and your business is responsible for 25 different Hall of Fame parties. Yes, 25! And our special guest knows first-hand how to create such a fantastic experience. Find out from Customer Experience Expert Bob Pacanovsky what it takes to give a “Black Tie Experience” every day of the year.
Issue 078: Are you as committed to your “yes” to yourself as you are to the “yes” you say to others?
In late September, I opened a conference with my keynote, Fearless Comebacks: Make Your Bounce Back Your Bounce-Up. Following me was the fantastic Emmy Award Winning TV Host Darieth Chisolm. Anytime I can hear other speakers, I do because I want to support them any way I can. My favorite part of Darieth’s presentation was her point about make your “yes,” your “yes,” and your “no” your “no.” You probably heard someone say something similar before. But, sometimes, when you experience it at the right time, the point makes a more significant impact.
Issue 077: It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year to Show Appreciation!
Yes, it’s mid-October and we’re talking about your business holiday gifts we give to show appreciation. And there’s a reason. This year you need to think about the winter holidays now if you’re sending business gifts as a year-end thank you!
Issue 076: What Can You Accomplish When You’re All In?
Happy October! Although I had another topic planned for this week’s Bounce-Up Chronicles, I switched it because I’ve been getting numerous emails and texts about the October 2nd event.
Issue 075: When Your Why is Bigger Than An Excuse…
As we head into October and the fourth quarter, we’re ending this month with an interview that could have you saying, “Are you crazy?” or at least thinking it. Well, it did for me.
Issue 074: Let’s Celebrate American Business Women’s Day 2021
To celebrate American Business Women’s Day with you, whether you’re a businesswoman or you support them, here are three strategies I’ve implemented that could help in the unpredictable business journey.
Issue 073: How Can a Festival Offer Business Insights?
Have you recently attended a festival or fundraiser? Or if you haven’t participated lately, think back to your last one. Did you notice any parallels between the event and business? Over the weekend, I spent two days at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival and had several “aha” business moments.
Issue 072: Are you ready for September reset?
September always feels like a reset month. It’s time to refocus on business, reacclimatize the school and activity schedules, and restart the action plans to hit goals.
In this business growth episode, photographer and Beyond Boss mentor Caitlin Thomas shares how she built her six-figure+ company creating relationships and photographing up-and-coming rap artists such as Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa while getting her degree. You’ll hear critical mistakes to avoid when it comes to professional photos and a few tips to rock your business brand.
Issue 071: Can you have both success and significance?
As we leave August behind and head into September, what if we went into the third quarter with a “helping or giving” spirit in mind. What if we thought about how we can help others succeed as we’re on the path to success?
Issue 070: Are Website Mistakes Costing You Customers?
Unfortunately, we usually learn more from our mistakes than our successes when we think about them. This week’s Bounce-Up Chronicles video issue covers website mistakes we could be making, how to avoid them, and what to do instead.
Yes, our friendly and informative experts, Rachel and Hannah from Waterloo Street, share the mistakes they see professionals making. So, let’s dig in so that you can attract more clients.
Issue 069: What a Puppy Can Remind Us About Business
After 18 months of submitting plenty of adoption applications, I finally came home with a tiny fur-baby, Gidget.
With a little more than a week into this journey, many lessons have been learned that segue into business. First, let’s talk about rejections. Now, between my experience as a traditionally published writer, a sales executive/trainer, and a business owner, I’ve experienced my share of rejections. And anyone who has ever applied for a job or has been in business knows something about rejection, especially if you’re in business development. And let’s face it, if we have clients, we’re in business development, aka sales.
Issue 068: What 3 Marketing Mistakes can be Avoided?
Do you know what marketing mistakes could have clients turning away? Would you like to know what mistakes you could avoid? Better yet, wouldn’t it be great to hear what you can do to increase client base?
In Issue 68, it’s all about bouncing-up your business growth. You’ll hear three marketing mistakes to avoid from the experts at Waterloo Street, a Pittsburgh-based branding and website design agency. Better yet, you’ll learn how to easily rectify them to attract more clients. (Psst. Behind-the-scenes: Their clients include several high-profile celebrities.)
Issue 067: How do you celebrate an important milestone?
How do you celebrate milestones? Your milestone could be a personal, professional, or business one. And when global events cancel your celebration, how do you move forward?
Like many people, my out-of-the-country destination, the "healthy milestone celebration," has been postponed for the past two years. In 2020, I replaced the trip with a fun "8 Days of Ireland" celebration. But, this year, I wanted to do something entirely different, yet I didn't know what…until my annual visit with my surgeon.
Issue 066: Why This Customer Appreciation Event Rocked It!
Have you attended a customer appreciation event that seemed more like a sales pitch for a new product or service than a genuine way to thank the customers? Or maybe, after you’ve hosted an event, you realized you missed an opportunity to connect with your clients?
In Issue 66, hear the proactive signs of a fantastic customer appreciation event hosted by Design Inspirations owner Kathleen Kirby.
